作品の解説

渡英後の初のアルバム『COME RAIN COME SHINE』がこれまでの作品と並べても違和感なく良い意味で布袋寅泰のニューアルバムという仕上がりだったのに対し、渡英後2枚目の今作はエポックメイキング的な作品になっている。夢はワールドツアーという布袋寅泰の強い思いが感じられる作品で、インスト曲が多くを占め日本語曲はなくゲストボーカルを迎えている。今までは布袋プロデュースが当たり前だったが、今作では外部プロデューサーに委ねた曲も多い。レコーディング環境も変わり、機材のメンテをはじめ運搬・スタジオの予約など多くのことを布袋自身が行うスタイルで製作された。このアルバムは日本の一般的なファン向けにつくられてはおらず、あくまで世界を見据えた作品の日本版という位置付け。ギタリスト布袋寅泰、サウンドデザイナー布袋寅泰、が好きな一部のファンにはとても評判のよい作品。アルバムの先行視聴会とトークイベントが虎ノ門ヒルズで発売前の9月11日に開催された。この時の模様はニコ生でも生中継された。

最大のポイントはイギー・ポップの参加。参加曲は2曲でいずれも素晴らしい楽曲に仕上がっている。布袋寅泰作品を長年に渡りマスタリングしてきたイアン・クーパー氏が引退したため、このアルバムではメトロポリススタジオのマゼン・ミュラード(Mazen Murad)が担当している。

このアルバムをベースとして翌年の2015年にアルバム『STRANGERS』がHOTEI名義で海外リリースされた。
